Gemeinde Barssel Live Cam. The municipality is located 45 kilometers north of the district town of Cloppenburg in a former swamp area in the northernmost tip of the district of Cloppenburg. The counties of Ammerland and Leer (East Frisia) are directly adjacent there . It is 40 kilometers from Dollart Bay at the mouth of the Ems. Nevertheless, it is only one meter above sea level and was therefore often at risk of flooding in the past . The greatest height of seven meters has a small elevation in the south of Barßel. The Aue (north), called Barßeler Tief , and Soeste (south) flow around the center of Barßel .
