Inta is a Russian city (since 1954), the center of Inta District. It is located in the northeast of the Komi Republic.The population of Inta makes 27 723 people (as of 2015). Together with adjacent settlements it makes the municipality district of Inta, with the population of 30 512 people.The city is located in the forest-tundra to the west of the Ural Mountains, in the northeast of the Komi Republic, on the left bank of River Bolshaya Inta. It stands at the distance of 608 km to Syktyvkar and 1600 km to Moscow.
