The Americas comprise the totality of the continents of North and South America. Together, they make up most of the land in Earth’s western hemisphere and comprise the New World.
Along with their associated islands, they cover 8% of Earth’s total surface area and 28.4% of its land area. The topography is dominated by the American Cordillera, a long chain of mountains that runs the length of the west coast. The flatter eastern side of the Americas is dominated by large river basins, such as the Amazon, St. Lawrence River / Great Lakes basin, Mississippi, and La Plata. Since the Americas extend 14,000 km (8,700 mi) from north to south, the climate and ecology vary widely, from the arctic tundra of Northern Canada, Greenland, and Alaska, to the tropical rain forests in Central America and South America.
Most Common Birds Observed: Northern Cardinal, American Goldfinch, House Finch, House Sparrow, Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Mourning Dove, Blue Jay, Tufted Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Common Grackle, European Starling, Mourning Dove, and Black-capped Chickadee.
This nest is located in Charles County, Maryland next to the Port Tobacco River at Port Tobacco River Park USA. It has successfully fledged two eaglets for the last two years. The Port Tobacco River Park Bald Eagle Nest is a wild eagle nest. Please know that there are scenarios that some viewers may find difficult to watch. Interactions with other wildlife, sibling rivalry & weather can impact the eggs &/or eaglets. While we hope for a successful season, remember, anything could happen.

Ushuaia is the capital of Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur Province, Argentina. It is commonly regarded as the southernmost city in the world. Ushuaia is located in a wide bay on the southern coast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, bounded on the north by the Martial mountain range, and on the south by the Beagle Channel. It is the only municipality in the Department of Ushuaia, which has an area of 9,390 km2 (3,625 sq mi). It was founded on October 12, 1884 by Augusto Lasserre and is located on the shores of the Beagle Channel surrounded by the mountain range of the Martial Glacier, in the Bay of Ushuaia. Besides being an administrative center, it is a light industrial port and tourist hub.
